Alex – NetSpotKeymasterGuys, have a look at this article in our knowledgebase, NetSpot 2 will actually easily scan your hidden networks: /help/hidden-ssids/
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterConcerning these crashes: try updating to NetSpot 2.0.255, they should be fixed in that release.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterQuite weird. We tested the update phase very thoroughly. Please send the project that cannot be opened with the reference to this post to onair@netspotapp.com
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterIs the position detected by NetSpot completely incorrect? Or just not exact? You will be able to manually position APs found by NetSpot in version 2.0. There’s a beta version available to beta testers at macdeveloper.net – you can become one.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterThat’s weird that non-broadcasting APs were seen by NetSpot 1.3, even in selected samples. NetSpot 2 doesn’t fix this. NetSpot 2 lets you include hidden SSIDs into survey. So the fix is global. We’ll send you the beta asap.

Alex – NetSpotKeymasterWe truly hope NetSpot will become the one :) Stay tuned, we are uploading NetSpot 2 Beta to macdeveloper.net shortly.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterNot yet, sorry.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterDo you mean upload/download speed by “actual network performance”?
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterThat’s right. Thanks. Please reference this topic on your email
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterDid you send the project to us for a review? Are you trying to open it with NetSpot 1.3 or 2.0 beta?
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterHi Craig, thanks for giving NetSpot a try! First of all, we would really love to have a look at your project to recommend something more practical. All other advice will be theoretical as we have no idea what exactly we are dealing with. And you are definitely right that it might be tough to deal with auto-switching neighboring networks conflicting your own configured wireless net. In most cases installing additional APs is the only solution. However, having a better look at your map will definitely help. NetSpot 2.0 will actually attempt to provide you with hints and recommendations that might help you resolve identifiable issues.

NetSpot 2.0 will let you do that.

Alex – NetSpotKeymasterNever compared them, and I am sure that comparing ANY wireless devices would produce completely different results. If you are sure that MacBook’s adapter is stronger, then you can assume the connection speed and coverage quality for other devices based on the map you get in NetSpot. In fact, we are planning to add external WiFi adapters’ support in future releases, but that will require an AirPort compatible device in fact.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterThank you guys, it definitely helps. You should be hearing from the team soon.
