Alex – NetSpotKeymasterWe fixed this. The fix is going to be available in the next update. Stay tuned :)
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterThanks, TnIan! I’m sure NetSpot for Android will become available some day. We are definitely interested in this platform, however, we are kind of concentrated on updating Mac version to a more mature version that matches many corporate standards these days. So, just stay tuned. We will have the Android version asap!
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterRight now, you should simply export the map from the old project, and start a new one. Within one of the next updates, we’ll return the “Reconfigure” option which was available in NetSpot 1.x
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterHi!
If you are just trying to understand which AP transmits on 2.4 or 5 GHz, then you just need to hover any SSID in the sidebar and check its hint, or just review the corresponding column in Discover mode: /help/what-is-discover-mode/
This functionality is available in NetSpot Free.
If you want to predict which AP your clients will connect to in a specific point on a heatmap, you just need to hover that point after the visualization is compiled (SNR or Signal Level) and check the values in the sidebar: the AP having higher values will be the one users will connect to. NetSpot PRO will soon feature sorting by Frequency Band, this option will simplify networks’ management and analysis.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterThere’s no way to tell this unless you scan other floors.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterDefinitely, email it to onair@netspotapp.com
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterFYI: NetSpot 2.0.274 was uploaded today. Get it at http://www.netspotapp.com
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterNot yet in NetSpot. We’ll think of a good way to introduce this feature in one of the next updates
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterIn fact, with # 2 you won’t need to click anything at all. Actually we got a number of opposite requests for NetSpot 1.x and that’s why we removed the need to click the heatmap to see the values under the cursor.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterHi Dawe, we don’t think that it’s important to sample around each of the columns, it’s more efficient to get data between them. General recommendation would be: if there are many obstacles in your area, try to sample more frequently.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterIf I’m getting you right, # 2 actually suppresses # 1. So, if we implement # 2 for you and other users, that might be a solution, right?
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterNo need to click [them] any more. Just hover any point on the heatmap and check the values under your cursor in the sidebar.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterNo way… Sorry. NetSpot 1.3 never knew about version 2.0’s format.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterDid you request the one from our support team?
