Alex – NetSpotKeymasterNice workaround. We’ll definitely consider something usable here.

We are planning to add this in NetSpot 2, stay tuned!

Can you explain what you mean here?
We got your idea in general. And we are actually thinking of having multi-level manual sorting of APs by letting you (a user) use tags. However, this seems not very consistent for now. So, your ideas are surely welcome.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterslm4996 said: The new information displayed is an improvement, it should show the BSSID of the ap as well. I know you can hover over the name to get it but the BSSID is just as or more important to know than the vendor.
We are thinking of having customizable columns in the sidebar for one of the future releases. Fighting the need for more space there now. Still want to keep the app usable, and not overcrowded with data.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterThanks for reporting this! Your maps might help to find the cause of freezing. However, please, make sure you are using NetSpot 1.2, there were some fixes related to larger projects.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterI assume you’ll have much fewer errors with the new release of NetSpot 1.2.

So do you just want to change the underlying map?
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterslm4996 said: Not multi-ssids per AP but rather multiple radios in a single AP. They are currently detected as individual items since you are really only showing SSID+BSSID as identifiers.
Check NetSpot 1.2 for improved networks’ listing.

Alex – NetSpotKeymasterThat matters. However as we already denoted in this post, NetSpot doesn’t take zones’ vertical positions into consideration yet and will actually duplicate found APs on both floors when surveying multi-floor buildings. We are working on that.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterYes, you will have to redo it, unfortunately. Data was already measured, and moving data collection points will ruin the survey accuracy. That is why we let you undo only 1 data point at time, the last one, then the other one, etc.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterYou should check your APs manual. Let me google for you:
http://www.online-tech-tips.com/computer-tips/disable-ssid-broadcast-airport-express-extreme-wireless-routers/ – “Create a closed network” option hides SSID.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterThanks to everyone who already donated their projects. We will keep each and every of you posted.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterWe don’t think it’s worth the effort then.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterIn both cases the crash occurred inside Mac OS in com.apple.CoreGraphics. We are investigating the issue, if anything can be done on our side or not.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterI think we got 2 of your crash reports. Hold on, we’ll post here or reply via email.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterSeems like something crashed. Were there any requests to send a crash report to us? Which Mac are you running this on?
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterMichael, did you use the Configure menu under the sidebar?
