njinnesParticipantJust installed and successfully download netspot software via my WiFi, but the software is not picking up my WiFi though can see my neighbours. Thoughts?

njinnesParticipantActually have installed on my iMac and it successfully sees it as on Channel 6, but NetSpot on the MacBook is not seeing Channel 6 – why would that be?

Marisa_NetSpotParticipantHello, I would assume you are using NetSpot 1.3.335 (or 1.3.336 available on the AppStore). We got several similar reports from other users, and would also guess that you are having this issue on Mac OS 10.6.x. Is that correct?
First of all, please, try to restart your Mac.
If the problem persists, please, perform the following:
1. Â Check whether the same problem occurs with the new not-yet-released build of NetSpot. We emailed you the link.
2. Try resetting your Mac’s PRAM
3. Install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1
4. Also, please, execute the following command in Terminal and send us the results: uname -a
Several users who experienced this bug were able to fix it using one or the other method listed above.April 29, 2012 at 8:00 am #1654
njinnesParticipantThanks for the assist, however, I have tried the options you have outlined and still have not had any success – i.e. not picking up Channel 6.
I have sent the output for uname -a separate on email.

njinnesParticipantQuick update – thanks for sending link for the latest package of NetSpot – worked perfectly. Great support and really prompt, efficient and friendly turn around.
Greatly appreciated.

geoffdParticipantI have a similar problem with NetSpot 1.3.335. On my Macbook Pro (2007 model 3,1 running 10.6.8) the scans are fast (about 3 sec) but only find networks on channel 1 (my neighbours’). It does not find my own much stronger signal on channel 6 (nor when I changed it to channel 11 but yes when I put it on channel 1).
On my MacMini (2010 model 4,1 running 10.6.8) scans take much longer ( about 30 sec) than on the Macbook Pro but all channels are found.
It therefore seems that on the macbook Pro scans are terminated after channel 1 is searched. I note from that the Macbook Pro has a different Airport extreme card ( Card Type: AirPort Extreme (0x168C, 0x87); Firmware Version: Atheros 5416: 2.1.14.6 than the Mini (Card Type: AirPort Extreme (0x14E4, 0x93); Firmware Version: Broadcom BCM43xx 1.0 (5.10.131.42.4 ))
Might this be significant?July 7, 2012 at 4:07 pm #1695
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterHi… it’s great that you have another Mac and can see that NetSpot actually works perfect. It’s surely bad that it’s not a MacBook :) Hold on, we’ll update you asap

geoffdParticipantMany thanks for version 1.3.353. This is now finding all channels on my Macbook Pro.
Is there any way to delete a point other than the last point without having to delete all points after it? After doing a scan I found one point where no networks were found (I’m sure this was some sort of error) and it has distorted the results.

NetSpot 2.0 will let you do that.
