Alex – NetSpotKeymasterPaul, I agree with you. Once we refine the preferences of the project and the app itself, we will be able to add this feature. But I can’t tell you exactly when it happens.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterUpdate: we completed our tests with OS X 10.8.5 and are ready to confirm that this bug is NOT fixed in the framework. The next update of NetSpot will notify users of the problem, and will recommend getting OS X 10.9. We will also be able to implement a workaround for the network you are currently connected to, but not to the neighboring ones. Stay tuned. We are also submitting another bug report to Apple via developer account now.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterIt’s a fix in Mavericks, guaranteed. Still checking with 10.8.5, but obviously the framework is buggy in it.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterIf you are running NetSpot from the App Store, all similar questions should go to Apple, not to us. We have no control over the way App Store distributes and deploys apps. Please, consider getting a much newer, more polished version of NetSpot from our website directly, that way we can actually provide technical assistance in case something goes wrong: http://www.netspotapp.com
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterHi there, can you please send the project file to onair@netspotapp.com – we see the issue, and we might be able to fix the project. Which build of NetSpot was this survey created in?
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterTrue, it seems to be there. Did you try upgrading to OS X 10.8.5 or 10.9 Dev Preview? The latter definitely resolves the issue with the AirPort framework.

Alex – NetSpotKeymasterNetSpot updated to version 2.2.453, check it out: /help/netspot-2-2/#ns-2-2-453
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterI’m not sure it’s possible after the survey is completed (and even started). According to our recommendations, any changes you make to the survey conditions, you should run it again. However, I agree that this exact case may be mostly related to math part of the survey. Let me speak to my team first.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterMarisa will update you via email shortly.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterI guess your scenario is similar to this one: /help/talk/topic/the-same-wap-multiple-times-in-1-zone/ – there are several hints on how this can be accomplished with the current version of NetSpot. Anyway, we are considering a special survey mode, something like incremental survey, where you would be able to virtualize APs and their positions in the area with only one (or several) real AP. This feature will be based on current snapshots and joining them together selectively.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterIs it the new MacBook Air with AC? Apple seems to have issues with Wi-Fi framework in those new laptops, and based on what we know right now, even the fix that was released doesn’t solve the problem. We are monitoring the situation.

Alex – NetSpotKeymasterAnd we got NetSpot 2.2.436 uploaded today: http://www.netspotapp.com/getnetspot
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterThis will certainly be available in future releases, however, note that this feature will only work starting with OS X 10.7.
