Alex – NetSpotKeymasterSo, let me verify this: you are saying that NetSpot detects the visible network, and does not see the hidden SSID in Discover Mode, is this correct? If yes, then it’s the normal behavior, as hidden networks will not show up in Discover Mode, at least for the current version of NetSpot.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterChecking the possible cause now. Hold on.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterA few clarifications needed…
Did you try to re-survey? Can you check the momentarily SNR via the Discover mode when you are in the sanctuary? Are you sure the survey is done according to our recommendations: /help/tips-and-hints-running-a-wireless-site-survey/ ?
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterWould you rather be looking into Download Speed visualization? The transmit rate is a value between your computer and the router, while it seems to me you are looking for the other one. I might be wrong. Let me know.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterSee NetSpot 2.4.585, the fix is there: https://www.netspotapp.com/downloads.html
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterCheck out the latest build. The issue is finally fixed and a stable release is out there: https://www.netspotapp.com/downloads.html
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterIf the repeater is physically there in the area, it should be listed in the sidebar after the survey. Are you sure it’s not there? If you don’t see it on the heatmap, it might just not be selected.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterThat’s exactly what we suspected. Thanks for the follow-up.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterHi Richard, can you send the project file to onair@netspotapp.com? We’ll check what can be wrong. Are you getting this issue with any area map that you load in NetSpot? Even with blank ones?
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterThis beta version should fix the bugs related to project opening: https://www.netspotapp.com/buildz/2.4.x/2.4.584/NetSpot.dmg
As we mentioned before, they are related to the way OS X treats APs with empty SSIDs in the newer versions of their framework.

Alex – NetSpotKeymasterThe following Beta also addresses this issue: https://www.netspotapp.com/buildz/2.4.x/2.4.584/NetSpot.dmg
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterAnother Beta release to address this issue: https://www.netspotapp.com/buildz/2.4.x/2.4.584/NetSpot.dmg

Alex – NetSpotKeymasterI asked that to know whether you are having an issue similar to this one, or you are just lacking the functionality to see non-broadcasting APs in Discover Mode: /help/talk/topic/not-recognizing-my-own-connected-network/

Alex – NetSpotKeymasterHi Radu, have you checked if you also cannot see this network in Survey mode?
