Alex – NetSpotKeymasterThat’s still one of our priorities.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterNot yet possible in NetSpot 2.4, might be available in 3.0. On the roadmap. We apologize for the inconvenience. But if your underlying maps are available, it won’t be long to start a new project. AP lists are exportable now.
Alex – NetSpotKeymaster@stuntman, this issue was already reported back in 2012. Should have been resolved in one of the builds at that time. I’m forwarding this to my team now to see if there’s anything that can be done now. I might have more requests for info, though…
Alex – NetSpotKeymasteriPad Pro, pro tools, same iOS, same sandbox, same restrictions for app devs. But we are working with the guys from Oscium and should have a solution for iOS with their gadget soon. Stay tuned! We are very excited, actually.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterHm, I was able to track your email thread by peeping into your forum profile. Otherwise, please, include your email address, or referende # (order ID), or we can’t identify you. You’ve got a reply on November 10th, haven’t you? Your activation code should be all set now. Next time, you can use this link to reset your activations: https://updates.netspotapp.com/changehid/
I’m sorry for all the delays with replying.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterThe newer build 623 has been released yesterday. Keep us informed on how it does. Thanks to everyone keeping in touch.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterThe reports generated by the Mac App Store and non-App-Store versions of NetSpot should produce identical results. It might be possible that NetSpot Reporter had different visualization settings and you saw the heatmap in mostly red. As I mentioned, once you have the apps reinstalled (if you really want that), send us the project file, and we’ll help you troubleshoot it. The web version of NetSpot should run fine with NetSpot Reporter, btw. But we definitely recommend the more feature-rich web version.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterWhat does the Apple’s WiFi Diagnostic utility says in that same spot? Also, it would help if you could send your NetSpot project files to us for a quick review: onair@netspotapp.com
Finally, does NetSpot’s Discover Mode reports the same low SNR? You may want to install NetSpot Free from our website to have that feature working: https://www.netspotapp.com/downloads.html
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterHi again, it seems this has been implemented in the following beta release: https://netspotapp.com/buildz/2.4.x/2.4.608/NetSpot.dmg
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterWell, in fact it’s not completely true. You can either digitize your map in terms of highlighting the walls and entering their materials (not always known, btw), which NetSpot doesn’t support for now, or alternatively you just follow our survey tips and take more samples and more frequently: /help/tips-and-hints-running-a-wireless-site-survey/
The more samples there are in the map, the more true-to-life the resulting heatmap will be. Even if you don’t know what a specific wall is made of, just measuring your WiFi coverage on both its sides will provide you with actual signal data, which is used to build your heatmap in NetSpot.

Alex – NetSpotKeymasterChris, but it doesn’t ensure that your Mac will actually re-connect to the closest and not the most powerful AP…
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterAny level of prediction within software emulated WiFi coverage is theoretical, and gives only the basic idea of how the data may be flowing over the air. We are doing our best working with real equipment and modelling signal penetration capabilities to reach the most authentic results possible. But it’s still just a projection. Real-life material properties may differ substantially.
Alex – NetSpotKeymaster…and it was: NetSpot 2.4.607, get it here /help/netspot-2-4/
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterThis feature is available in NetSpot 2.4.607: /help/netspot-2-4/
