Alex – NetSpotKeymasterHi there, thanks for the detailed report. We’ll follow-up shortly, your request has been received and our team is reviewing it. Shouldn’t take long.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterOK, seems that the noise level is not critical in your case. However, we recommend changing the channel for that AP and seeing if it improved any of the network parameters. SNR around 30 is fine. If it’s 40 and more – it’s even better. This topic may help associate SNR values with potential data rates.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterNot much to announce now. Getting a few updates ready before we can dedicate enough dev force to mobile UI and actual measurements.
@dremundorff, how important is the fact that Oscium only provides 2.4GHz coverage for now for you?
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterThat’s an extremely interesting feature, which we would like to have available in NetSpot, but don’t have any infrastructure ready for it. We are working on adding the opportunity to join several survey projects into one, that should cover your needs for about a half. Not sure about real-time though, now… but that’s something to consider. Thank you.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterI assume it’s a duplicate topic: /help/talk/topic/help-needed-to-set-up-internal-server-testing/

Alex – NetSpotKeymasterThanks for the hint about another account. However, upgrading to 10.11 should also help. As noted before, newer Mac OS X seems to be addressing this issue to a certain extent.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterSeems like the issue has been resolved. Thanks for updating the thread. For basic speed tests you m ay use default script setting and use the ones that are hosted on our server. Hope NetSpot helped you locate the source of the problem.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterLate quick follow-up to your questions from our other thread.
> How exactly is that number calculated?
It is a difference between the signal level of this network and the max signal level of another network.
> How does NetSpot determine co-channel AP’s when each AP is broadcasting multiple SSID’s?
If the BSSIDs of the networks differ only in the last digit, they are considered to be one AP and the interference is not calculated in this case.
> Is the number on the pin always representative of the ‘worst-case’ scenario, ie worst-cochannel AP’s?
Yes, it is.
> How does the SIR heatmap (under passive-scanning) differ from the ‘Troubleshooting–>overlapping channels’ heatmap?
The Troubleshooting heatmaps are the same as visualizations but divided into critical levels instead of gradient colors.

Alex – NetSpotKeymasterSebastian, it’s absolutely not correct. However, it’s not NetSpot’s issue. We faced something like that in Yosemite and Mavericks. Much less in El Capitan, 10.11. It has to do something with the way keychain storage works, and it might restrict apps from accessing stored data continuously for some reason. It happens very rarely, but it does. In our experience, just restarting your Mac helps. Sometimes the issue is gone by itself within some time. Unfortunately, we can’t control this request from Mac OS X.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterHi Rick, I totally agree. We are already working in Android direction, and the Windows version is going to be uploaded within days.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterIn this case, as you can see, the virtual SSIDs differ in the first octet. Our solution was joining multi-SSID APs by the last octet, which is more common. With the above example, it’s not possible to be done automatically. And the manual feature is not yet available. But we hear you, and will do our best to add it in the nearest future.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterI assume this is being taken care of via email. I’m sorry for the delay with replying here.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterYes, still. We’ll have a separate mode for this hopefully soon.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterAnd already in the latest release.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterIs this about Discover Mode now? The orange one in Discover Mode is your active network, the one you are connected to: /help/what-is-discover-mode/
