Alex – NetSpotKeymaster/help/talk/topic/wireless-adapter/
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterAnyway, here’s why NetSpot-wide and project-wide aliases are different: /help/rename-ap/
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterThat’s not incorrect. Before I provide further explanations, can you let me know if it’s a new survey project that was created with NetSpot 2.4 or the older one?
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterWorking on… I’ll keep you updated. Thanks so much for a detailed follow-up.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterHi again… and yes, I have to confirm some of the issues that need to be polished and will be asap.
> Always use TCP speed
We are checking the relation among the controls in the Preferences. Technically the option means that while testing the speed via UDP the speed value received via TCP will be used.
> …Netspot crashes while performing the test
Did you send the crash report to us?
> According to server log only one datagram is really transferred.
Is the speed for testing specified?
> is UDP speed really in megabytes per second (capital B)?
A typo… thanks for pointing that out. NetSpot cannot have typos like this :)
> Legend is not included… and “<survey>-<zone>-signal-level”.
Checking this and will be fixed.
> UDP Jitter values are shown all as 0
Was a UDP test completed? If not, there’s no way to calculate the jitter.
> None of colour schemes makes sense for UDP jitter
You are right here, we’ll see what can be done.
Thanks again!
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterWe would be more than willing to add the support for external WiFi adapters, but… it’s still on the roadmap. Not all of them support AirPort interface and are easily identifiable in OS X. I’ll email you a test tool that we have.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterThanks for reporting those… checking these issues now.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterNo news yet. Instead of making iOS more open to developers and then users, Apple keeps the doors tightly shut, and is obviously limiting developer freedom with every new release of the desktop OS X as well.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterThis feature is now officially in NetSpot 2.4: /help/netspot-2-4
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterAnd we are ready to announce the support of OS X 10.10 Yosemite now… /help/netspot-2-4
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterThe heatmap gradient is finally editable: /help/netspot-2-4
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterJust wanted to follow-up, NetSpot 2.4 adds full support for importing/exporting of AP aliases: /help/netspot-2-4/
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterYou mean something like this?
https://www.netspotapp.com/uploads/tmp/netspot-shorter-range.png
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterAnd another hint from my team, to better troubleshoot this, don’t forget to disable Bluetooth on your Mac.
Alex – NetSpotKeymasterWe don’t have that raw data export from the surveys yet… but we are definitely considering this.
