FAQ: I am getting “Could not download manifest” error

Issue:

I am trying to download/install the Windows version of NetSpot and keep getting an error saying “Could not download manifest”. It happens on different computers. Am I missing something and how to fix this?

Solution:

Step 1.
Try changing the DNS settings to use Google’s servers 8.8.8.8 or 4.4.4.4.

Step 2.
Check if you have the same manifest-related issue on another computer in the same network.

Step 3.
Try this installer and report back.

Step 4.
Delete all the ClickOnce manifests from %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0\%hashcode%\%hashcode%\manifests folder and delete the folder as well. Then you’ll need to install all the ClickOnce applications again.

Where:
%userprofile% is your account name
%hashcode% is a random hash
For example: \Users\Paul\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0\BZWCMEVE.1NQ\LG9M2E93.VRO
*AppData is a hidden folder
