RalphParticipantAlright,
here are the features i would like to see in an upcoming version.
#1:
Being able to have the same WAP multiple Times in 1 zone survey:
This has been discussed by my in a separate thread:
/help/talk/topic/the-same-wap-multiple-times-in-1-zone/#2:
Being able to draw some basic items like lines and comments into the survey.#3:
Better export options for a documentation.
The PDF which is exported in the current version is very “basic”. It would be really nice to have a selection of what you want to have in the pdf. Like accesspoint details, Signal levels, signal-to-noise ratio, some graphs from the data which has been collected, etc. All this sort of information is missing in the current export. There are probably some more things which would be nice to have, but those 3 are the main features i would like to see.

Alex – NetSpotKeymasterHi Ralph…
#1: Let’s call it “joining zone snapshots”… planned.
#2: Adding notes to the survey was on the roadmap long ago. We’ll definitely add the feature. Not sure about lines though…
#3: We are testing NetSpot 2.1 with Advanced Export features, I’ll email you the link when the version is more stable.Thank you for keeping in touch :)

In fact, these details are already exported. We will add export of vendor info per AP. Let me know if there’s a specific setting we are missing here.

RalphParticipantHey,
yes i know the PDF-export features the details of the WAP’s used in the survey.
But it looks really basic, with the information about the SNR and other details of the WAP.What i mean is, that it would be nice to have more details about the WAP’s. I cannot hand out the PDF to a customer because they want to have fancy looking documents with graphs and so so on.
I think there are more possibilities to get a more detailed PDF, like at which distance of the WAP which signal level will be reached, so the network can be designed using this PDF.Any sort of additional information would be useful. I mean you are able to choose “Signal level”, “Noise level”, “Download/Upload speed”, “Wireless transmit rate” and so on in the survey, but it wont be exported in the pdf. It hasn’t to be especially the graphical results, but a few numbers and statistics would give the document a more professional look.
I hope you understand what i mean =)

Alex – NetSpotKeymasterSeems like I need to send you the beta version of NetSpot 2.1 when it’s ready, and we’ll proceed from there.

RoyRParticipantWhat I’d really like to see is more info plotted on the map when you do an expor eg. at each point on a floor plan where you have stopped to take a reading it would be really good if some of the readings were displayed on the exported pdf. For example, the SNR readings displayed on the floor plan would be ideal. If there’s a beta that has these features then I’d really appreciate the chance to try it out

Alex – NetSpotKeymasterSome surveys just don’t have enough space on a map to display all the measurements. I’m sure the Advanced Export feature of NetSpot 2.1 will be handy in this case, but it won’t display any more data right on the map. Emailed the link for you to try it out.

RoyRParticipantThanks for that Alex, I’ve emailed you a screenshot of a survey carried out for us by British Telecom. I don’t know what software they use but the reports they provide are what I’m trying to achieve

Alex – NetSpotKeymasterThanks Robert, we got the email, and I now see what you are seeking in NetSpot. I’ll need some more time to speak with my team before we can come up with the detailed plan on this feature.

RalphParticipantGreat to see that the team is working on handy future requests!
If there is any Beta to try out, i will kindly queue up in the line for trying out one.Regards,

mats.lejonParticipantHello
I would love to have a possibility to import a list of BSSID addresses and corresponding access point aliases. Setting aliases to access points in the map view is useful, but when you have many access points with several SSID-s, it would be nice to import a file.
If access point aliases could be seen in discover mode would also be quite nice, especially combined with an import function. Especially if the import could be done in advance, so any discovered BSSID would always display an alias as well.
