Love the product, bought the Pro version if only to support you guys. The knowledge base is very useful and I consider myself a fairly astute RF guy but I had a few questions after reading all the great advice:

I do surveys mostly in retail environments, think large Gap stores, sometimes on multiple floors with APs mounted up in the ceiling and mobile payment devices on both bands. What is the suggested amount of samples for getting a good map of this kind of environment?

In a floor size of about 100′ x 60′ I have been taking 50+ samples points when doing a survey thinking that more is better, but is this the case? In the knowledge base you guys mention taking a simple only as often as the green circles slightly overlap but I’m blanketing the floor with sample points, is more really better as it would intuitively seem or beyond the circles slightly touching, is there value in doing many samples?

Also, you guys have spent a lot of time with all the great helpful hints, well done. Maybe in the future you could also consider putting up some “sample” maps to download so you could say “this is an example of a map that has bad interference issues along the north wall” or something like that – it would help us so that when we see something similar on our own surveys we will realize it’s something we have seen before, example visualizations for our learning.

Thanks again for great work on a wonderful product!

    Hi there…

    1. True, the more samples, the better. But it leads (sometimes) to substantially longer calculations before you can update the heatmap.

    2. We are getting a lot of surveys from our clients, but we don’t always get authorizations to share them. But we were thinking of having a section on the website that will display a collection of shared surveys. Hopefully, it will be up some time soon.
